Drive thru Coconino National Forest to Sedona

After a few hours in Jerome, we decided to head back to our base at the Hyatt Pinion Pointe in Sedona. Even though it was cloudy, the views were amazing! We were so entranced by looking out the window, we had to quickly get in the left lane to avoid this gigantic tumbleweed! I had no idea that they got THAT big!
There weren't a whole lot of "trees" in Coconino Natl. Forest, I would describe it more like scrub with some trees thrown in for interest. But it was quite breathtaking, as well as serves for a nice foreground for photos of the red rocks Sedona is famous for!

It was very tempting to want to get out and just start hiking...it would be very easy I think just to start walking and ending up wandering for miles...they do have folks occasionally get lost out here because well...they get excited and don't think and come prepared.

Eventually, back home approaching downtown Sedona.
