Scenic Churchill, Manitoba, Canada

So, here's just a hodgepodge of different photo's that I just really liked!
A sunset viewed on November 11th from the tundra buggy as we returned to the launch near the CNSC.

This was the sunset on the 9th from the tundra buggy.
A lichen covered rock and soap berries at Cape Merry.
The Old Battery at Cape Merry used to help fortify the Fort on the other side of the Churchill River.

Me at Cape Merry with a rock cairn in the background. Note, a "warm" day...no parka!

Near sunset out on the tundra near the beach on November 9th. It appears as if some grease ice is trying to form.

A sunny morning out on the tundra, but the wind was quite gusty that day as evidenced by the blowing snow.

The wreck of the freighter MV Ithica, rusting away on the tidal flats of Bird Cove in Hudson Bay since September of 1961. Supposedly it was hauling nickel ore from Rankin Inlet, Nunavut to Montreal. At low tide, you can walk to it, but is now a rather unsafe structure. In earlier years it was quite the party place from what I hear.

A menacing sky over the tundra, a bear sleeps in the foreground in a day bed, while a tundra buggy near the bay treks on...

Early morning pictures of the tundra and taiga after a snowy and frosty night!
